At SCS, we are adamant about making sure parents are involved in the therapy process with a child or adolescent. A parent will have an opportunity to meet with the therapist during every appointment. Usually, a parent will meet with the therapist during the first part of the session (around 15 to 20 minutes) and the therapist will meet with the child/adolescent for the rest of the session. While we are flexible with this approach, we know family systems do not change without parental involvement. We also offer parent appointments to update goals and where we are at in the therapy process.
